Concordia battled the wind and Carleton and came away with a 3-1, 11-1 sweep over the Knights. It is the third series sweep for the Cobbers in the last four MIAC doubleheaders.

Concordia used the home-field advantage to explode for 33 runs and 32 hits in an 18-7, 15-1 sweep over Macalester in the 2024 home opener.

Carter Thielke was one of six pitchers who held Hamline to five runs in the Cobbers' sweep over the Pipers. He started Game 1 and went 6.0 innings.

Playing its third doubleheader in less than a week, Concordia started to find its rhythm and swept Hamline. The Cobbers outlasted the Pipers in the first game to post a 3-2 win in 11 innings. CC used a 10-hit attack to score 11 runs and beat Hamline 11-3 in Game 2.

Gabe Benson led Concordia at the Illinois Wesleyan Invite. He went 75-70 to finish in ninth place in a meet that featured 214 competitors.

Concordia had all five players shoot lower scores on Day 2 at the Illinois Wesleyan Invite and was led by Gabe Benson who went 75-70 to finish in ninth place in a meet that featured 214 competitors.

Sophomore Kyla Nygaard opened the first full outdoor meet of the year by winning the 400 meters at the Hamline Invitational.
A Successful Spring Season Opener

The first spring meet in Minnesota was a success for the Cobbers as they recorded 11 Top 5 finishes, had five program Top 20 marks and nine personal best numbers at the Hamline Invitational in St. Paul.

The steeplechase and shot put crews led Concordia at the Hamline Invitational. The Cobbers had three athletes in each event post a Top 10 finish at the first full outdoor meet of the year. The two events were responsible for six of Concordia’s 16 Top 10 finishes at the meet.

Concordia celebrated its seniors on the final doubleheader weekend of the year. The Cobbers honored seniors Raquel Egge, Anna Hacker and Mary Skorich before their match with Macalester on Saturday and they played their final road contest of the year at St. Benedict on Sunday.

On the final doubleheader weekend of the year, it was the Cobbers’ doubles teams that stepped into the spotlight. Concordia received three of its five team points in its matches with Macalester and St. John’s.

The Cobbers used an 11-hit attack, and the arm of freshman Grant Anderson, to come away with an 8-0  win in the first game against St. Scholastica but couldn’t get back on offensive track in the finale and lost 6-1.

Cobbers Drop Two In MIAC Opener

After a 17-day break between games, Concordia opened up MIAC play at St. Olaf on Tuesday. The Cobbers staged a 3-run rally to tie the game in the sixth inning of Game 1 before falling 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh and then couldn’t string hits together in the nightcap and lost 4-0.

Makayla Anderson, Maddie Guler, Jordyn Kahler and Greta Tollefson all earned CSC Academic All-District honors. It is the second straight year for Anderson to receive the honor, while Guler, Kahler and Tollefson all earn the award for the first time in their careers.

Gabe Zierden’s dream season finally came to an end in the 197-lb championship match at the NCAA National Meet. Zierdan became the fifth athlete in program history to reach the championship match at an NCAA National Meet and the first since Phil Moenkedick in 2011.
