Regionally Ranked

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/24/19)---Concordia jumped into the Top 10 of the Central Region rankings as released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Tuesday.

Strengthened by their fifth-place finish at the Carleton Invite on Saturday the Cobbers jumped into the No.8 spot in the latest regional rankings. It marks the first time this season they have been regionally ranked and the first time in several seasons that Concordia has been in the Top 10 of the region.

Concordia is one of six MIAC teams ranked in the Top 10 of the Central Region. Carleton is the top ranked team in the region while St. Thomas, St. Olaf and Gustavus are above the Cobbers. CC is two spots ahead of Bethel.

The Cobbers have been solid as a team all year long and have four runners who have paced the team throughout the season. Senior Miriah Forness was the team's No.1 finisher last weekend at Carleton. Before that meet, junior Meritt Miller led CC in the first two meets of the season.

Senior Kara Andersen and junior Josie Herrmann have been in the Top 3 of the team in the past two meets as the Cobbers head toward the MIAC Championship Meet.

Concordia will have to wait to improve on their regional ranking as their next scheduled competition is Jamestown Invitational on Friday, Oct. 4 at the Pipestem Dam.
