AMESTOWN, N.D. (10/07/17)--- Concordia continues to get closer to the MIAC Meet and used the Jamestown Invite to get into championship form.

The Cobbers had a pair of runners finish in the Top 20 of the meet which was mostly NCAA Division II and NAIA teams. Concordia also had two others in the Top 35 as they finished in fifth place as a team.

Brianna Gruenberg and Kara Andersen continue to lead the way for the Cobbers. The two have owned the Top 2 spots on the team for all four of the meets they have both competed in.

Gruenberg bettered Andersen by 13 seconds at the Jamestown Invite. Gruenberg covered the 5K course in a time of 19:18 and came home in 16th place.
     
Andersen was right behind Gruenberg for the entire race. She crossed the line in a time of 19:31 and placed 18th in a meet which featured 76 athletes.

Seniors Maria West and Sarah Curran were the team's No.3 and No.4 finishers at the meet. West earned a Top 30 finish by running a 19:54 and coming home in 26th place. Curran was the No.33 finisher at the meet. She clocked a 20:15.

Concordia had two other harriers break the 21-minute mark. Erica Hauf broke the tape in 20:30 and Sara Whiteman was close behind at 20:34.

WHAT'S NEXT: Concordia will head south to compete in the Crown Invitational in St. Bonifacius on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. The Cobbers won the Crown Invite last season.
