Uhrich, Cobbers Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/14/14)— Sophomore Melissa Uhrich and Concordia earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national academic honors.  

Uhrich, who carries a 3.95 grade point average while majoring in Nursing, was named to the All-Academic Team.  She earns the award for the first time in his career. On the course Uhrich was 30th at the regional meet earning NCAA All-Region honors. She also earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors.

Programs must have compiled a cumulative GPA or 3.10 or greater and competed in at least five different meets with at least five runners representing their school at each.

In total 220 unique programs were recognized, including 141 programs that had both their women's and men's teams earn the honor.

The Whitworth women reported the highest team GPA at 3.84, while the Amherst and Ithaca men were tied atop their gender at 3.66.

The MIAC led all women's conference with 11 teams earning All-Academic honors, followed by the MAC with 10 and both the Centennial Conference and the NESCAC with nine apiece.

Concordia finished with a team grade point average of 3.49. It is the 15th straight season that the Cobbers have earned the prestigious coaches association award.
