On The Road To Recovery

GLYNDON, Minn. (9/13/13)— Morgan Christian continued her road to recovery as she led Concordia to a fifth-place team finish at the MSU Moorhead Invite on Friday.

Morgan, who is recovering from an injury she suffered during the track and field season last year, ran a 18:58 over the 5k course and just missed out on the top at the meet. Her 11th-place finish gives her a pair of top 15 results for the season. She placed fourth, and was the team's No.2 runner, at the season-opening Valley City Invite.

Morgan's time was the only sub 19-minute mark turned in by a Cobber runner. Melissa Uhrich crossed the line in 19:19 and placed 17th. She was the team's No.1 runner at Valley City when she came home in second place. Hannah Knickerbocker came away with her second straight No.3 finish for the Cobbers. She was :10-seconds behind Uhrich and finished in 19th place with a time of 19:29.

Like Knickerbocker, Anna Sneltjes recorded her second straight finish in the same spot in the team's top 5. Sneltjes was the fourth fastest CC runner at the MSUM Invite. Her time of 20:33 placed her in the top 30 in 30th place. She was the first of a pack of three runners that all crossed the line within :05-seconds of one another. Callie Christianson was the Cobbers' No.5 runner at the meet. She finished in a time of 20:35 while Paige Rygg was right behind in 20:38. Both runners were in the top 40 in the overall individual standings.

Concordia will have another two-week break to train for the Roy Griak Invite held at Les Bolstad GC on the campus of the University of Minnesota on Saturday, Sept. 28.
