Season Best Times Abound At St. Olaf Invite

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (9/15/12)—Concordia matched the step up in competition on Saturday as the Cobbers finished seventh in the 24-team St. Olaf Invite. It marked the first big multi-team event of the season for CC.

The Cobbers responded to the bigger field by having all five of their top runners post season best times.

Concordia junior Hannah Knickerbocker continues to lead the way for Marv Roeske's crew. Knickerbocker posted a top 25 finish in a field that had over 380 competitors. Knickerbocker's time of 23:36 over the 6K course was good for 21st place.  Her time was five seconds faster than her season-best time which she posted in last weekend's St. Ben's Invite.

The top 5 for the Cobbers remained unchanged from last Saturday's St. Ben's Invite. Knickerbocker was followed by fellow junior Morgan Christian. Christian posted a season-best mark of 24:09 and placed 33rd. She was followed by Nicole Woinarowicz, Paige Rygg and Kathryn Stalnaker.

Concordia will now have a two-week break before competing in the Gale Woods Invite on Friday, Sept. 28 as well as the prestigious U of M Roy Griak Invite on Saturday, Sept. 29.
