Run Streaks Stop Cobbers Against Saints
DULUTH, Minn. (10/8/21)---Concordia gave up three decisive run streaks against Duluth and lost 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-11) at St. Scholastica.
The Cobbers allowed a 13-point streak the first phase of the opening set, a 5-points streak in the second set after CC led 22-20 and then a 6-point run to start the third set.
The three streaks proved costly to Concordia who had their 1-match win streak come to an end. The Cobbers are now 6-11 in all matches and 0-4 in conference play. The Saints move to 2-6 overall and 2-2 in the MIAC.
Concordia hit above .000 in only one set on Friday. The Cobbers posted an attack percentage of .188 in the middle set when they had 22 points and finished with a .043 mark for the night. St. Scholastica hit above .200 in all three sets and posted a .254 mark for the match.
The Cobbers had 28 kills and 55 digs for the night as compared to 46 and 71 for CSS.
Senior Anna Brakke had a team-high eight kills and came up with five digs. Kendra Wiggs and Peyton Selle both added six winners each and Wiggs also recorded six digs.
Chloe Markovic had a team-high 12 digs and Kenzie Urbanec collected 20 assists for the night.
UP NEXT: Concordia will finish off their road back-to-back, conference matches on the weekend when they play at Macalester on Saturday, Oct. 9 at 4:30 p.m. The Scots are 10-7 overall and 1-3 in the league.
