Volleyball Earns Split in Day One of Knights Classic

WAVERLY, Iowa (9/13/2019).. The Concordia College women's volleyball team competed in day one of the Wartburg Knights Classic on Friday night.
The Cobbers lost 25-23, 25-22 and 25-18 against Grinnell College in the opening match of the tournament, but regrouped and went on to win their second game of the season in a five-set thriller over Coe College. Coe defeated the Cobbers 3-1 in the first tournament of the season back in August. The Kohawks jumped out to a two set lead but the Cobbers fought back to win set three and four to force the deciding game five. The Cobbers jumped out to a quick 8-4 lead in set 5 and never looked back defeating Coe 15-9. Statistics from the matches were not immediately available.
UP NEXT: Concordia concludes the tournament with two matches Saturday morning. The Cobbers will face tournament hosts Wartburg at 10am and Webster at 12:00pm.
