Hovland's Event Double Paces Cobbers

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (4/10/21)---Cayle Hovland returned to her indoor-season winning ways as she helped Concordia to a third-place finish at the St. Ben's Last-Minute Meet.

It took Hovland a couple of meets to warm up to the outdoor season after having a career year indoors. On Saturday she won both the discus and shot put and was one of four individual event winners at the meet for the Cobbers.

She won her first discus event of the outdoor season with a distance of 138-09. That was 7-feet farther than the runner-up and is the No.2 distance in the MIAC this year. Hovland turned the double win in the shot put. She recorded a mark of 45-05.00 in her final attempt of the day. Like her mark in the discus, that distance is the second best in the MIAC in 2021.
