A Trio Of All-Time Top 10 Marks

NORTHFIELD, Minn. (3/03/16)—Concordia had three athletes finish in the top 6 at the MIAC pentathlon and all three recorded point totals that place them in the top 10 on the school's all-time list.

Mikayla Forness, Anna Skow-Anderson and Jenna Stilwell led the Cobbers' multi-event crew which earned 12 points towards the MIAC Championship Meet and leaves CC in first place after one event of the 2016 conference competition.

Forness finished fourth in the event with a total of 3,054 points. Skow-Anderson was fifth at 2,977 points while Stilwell was sixth at 2,969 points.

Forness' final total places her fifth on the school's all-time top 10 list in the pentathlon while Skow-Anderson now owns the eighth best mark and Stilwell jumps into the top 10 in ninth place.

Forness was only seven points out of third place and 33 shy of second place. Her final score of 3,054 points was 353 more than her total from last year when she finished fifth in the MIAC indoor pentathlon.

Forness saved her best event for last as she scored 755 points by running a 2:25.18 in the 800 meters. Her time was the second fastest of the 17 competitors in the pentathlon and a season best for Forness.

Forness' other 600-plus point events came in the 55-meter hurdles and the high jump. She opened the pentathlon by clocking a 9.53 in the 55-meter hurdles which earned her 666 points. Forness then scored 644 points in the high jump by clearing a season-best height of 4-11.75.

Skow-Anderson upped her total from last year's second-place finish at the MIAC Meet by 177 points. In 2015 she finished with 2,800 points and placed second and this year she ended the five events with 2,977 points and finished fifth.

Skow-Anderson's scored in the 600's in four of the five events. Her top event point getter was the high jump where she soared over 5-01.00 and scored 678 points. Her height was third best among all competitors.

Skow-Anderson had the best mark in the shot put where she posted a distance of 37-03.75 and garnered 619 points. Her distance was a foot farther than anyone else in the field.

Skow-Anderson's other 600-point events were the 55-meter hurdles and the 800 meters. She ran a 9.81 in the 55-meter hurdles and finished off the pentathlon with a time of 2:33.97 in the 800 meters.

Competing in her very first conference meet, freshman Stilwell was only eight points behind Skow-Anderson. She had two events where she scored more than 600 points.

Stilwell's best event came in the opener where she raced to a 9.14 in the 55-meter hurdles and scored 714 points. Her time was a season best in the event. Stilwell also scored 610 points in the high jump with a mark of 4-10.50. Stilwell was in fourth place after two events of the pentathlon competition.
