Another Meet In A Long, Long Journey

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. (3/16/13)—The Cobbers continued their five-month long season as they remained indoors and lost 78.5-60.5 against St. Ben's in a dual meet at St. John's.

The meet was supposed to be the kick off of the outdoor season for Concordia however, with four feet of snow on the ground, the meet was moved indoors.

The Cobbers, who started practice in December and will continue to compete until the end of May, received event wins from Rochelle Hickerson, Rachel Tisdale, Hilary Thompson and Chelsea Klemetson. Hickerson and Tisdale came away with the two track event victories while Thompson and Klemetson earned field event wins.

Hickerson won the 60-meter dash at the meet. She had a time of 8.17 in the finals but her fastest time came in the prelims when she raced to an 8.14. Her prelim time is a career best and the fourth fastest in school history. Tisdale's win came in the 200 meters. She had a finishing of time of 27.80 which narrowly edged Hickerson by a mere .03 of a second. Tisdale's previous season best was 28.11 which came at the Ole Open on Feb. 22. Tisdale was also second in the 60 meters behind Hickerson when she raced to an 8.20 in the finals.

Thompson won the triple jump with a distance of 36-0.75. She also finished third in the long jump with a mark of 16-02.25. Teammate Olivia Decker was fourth in both the triple jump and long jump. Klemetson earned the win in the high jump with a mark of 5-01.75.
