Egge Earns MIAC Postseason Honor

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/11/21)--- Sophomore Raquel Egge (Minot, N.D.) became the first Cobber women's tennis player to earn a conference postseason award since 2012 when she was named to the MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team for her singles play in 2021.

Senior Jenna Forknell was chosen by Concordia as the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The All-Conference team is selected based on performance during conference dual matches, with the top 18 players (including ties) recognized for both singles and doubles. A player must play in five conference matches at any position to be eligible for the honor. Coaches also voted on an honorable mention team.

Egge was Concordia's No.1 singles player the entire season. She went 4-5 in the team's nine conference matches and was 5-6 overall. Both win totals led the Cobbers in 2021. Egge finished the year by winning four of her final five league matches – all of which were straight-set victories.

Egge was also a part of the Cobbers' No.1 doubles team for the season. She partnered with Forknell and the pair posted a team-best four wins in all matches and two victories against MIAC opponents.

Egge has now won 12 singles matches in her two years at Concordia.
