Cobbers Finish Off 2015 Season

FARGO, N.D. (4/19/15)—Concordia finished off the 2015 season by falling to regionally-ranked Gustavus at Courts Plus in Fargo on Sunday.

The Cobbers were unable to come up with a singles or doubles victory and lost 9-0.

Concordia finished the season with a 2-13 overall record and a 0-10 mark in conference play. The Gusties, who are ranked 11th in the latest ITA Central Region rankings, remain unbeaten in the MIAC. Gustavus is now 8-0 in the league and 13-12 overall.

The Cobbers lost 8-1 in both the No.1 and No.2 doubles bouts. Jade Haseltine and Morgan Sawatzke were the only singles players to come away with game wins for Concordia. Haseltine was tough in the first set in her match at No.2 singles and lost 6-3. She then dropped a 6-0 decision in the second set.

Sawatzke played in the closest match of the dual. She was broken once in the opening set and lost 6-4. Sawatzke couldn't hold serve as well in the second set and lost 6-2.

Haseltine and Sawatzke finish the season tied for the most singles wins for the Cobbers. The pair had three singles victories as did senior Taylor Peterson.
