A Perfect Day For The Outdoor Home Opener

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/18/15)—It was a perfect day for outdoor tennis as Concordia hosted NCAA Division II opponent St. Cloud State at the Jake Christiansen Athletic Complex.   

The Cobbers battled through all six singles bouts on a sunny, and calm, outdoor home opener.  CC wasn't able to come up with a win and lost 9-0. Concordia falls to 2-12 on the season while the Huskies are now 9-10.

The closest singles match of the sunny afternoon came at the No.2 spot. Jade Haseltine went back-and-forth with her opponent and lost by a single service break in each set. Haseltine fell 6-4 in the first set and then 7-5 in the second set.

Morgan Sawatzke also went back-and-forth in her singles match She lost 6-2, 6-3 at No.5 singles in the second closest singles bout of the afternoon.

Sawatzke teamed with Brittany Glatt and lost 8-2 at No.2 doubles while Kendra Stoick and Susan Zniewski dropped a similar 8-2 decision at No. 3 doubles.

Concordia will finish off the 2015 season when they host Gustavus on Sunday at noon at Courts Plus in Fargo.
