A Decorated 2017-18 Recruiting Class

MOORHEAD, Minn. (7/05/17)--- Concordia head coach Gary Fisher enthusiastically announced his first recruiting class for the 2017-18 season.

"Now that the 4th of July has come and gone it is easy to get excited about what the future holds for the program," said Fisher – who just completed his first season at the helm of the Cobbers. "We have six incoming student/athletes who all could make a huge impact on the program right away."

The six incoming Cobbers have posted impressive accomplishments during their high school careers and all six were their high school team's captain. There are also three state meet participants and several athletes who have times which are currently around Concordia school record marks.

The 2017-18 recruiting class isn't the largest in program history but it is one of the most decorated in the 21-year history of the program. All six athletes have a chance to qualify for the MIAC Championship Meet in their freshman season and all six will look to help the Cobbers improve on the ninth-place finish at the conference meet in 2017.

"It has been encouraging to see potential student/athletes get excited about Concordia and where the program is headed," added Fisher. "I am very happy about this first recruiting class and can't wait to get into the pool in the fall to start the season."

The six incoming first-year student/athletes will join the nine current Cobbers on the roster who are expected to return for the 2017-18 season. Concordia's season will begin in October and will finish at the end of the February with the annual MIAC Championship Meet held at the University of Minnesota.
