Groundhog Day

STORY LINE: Kalli Baarstad got the Cobbers on the board in the eighth minute of play against Northwestern and then allowed the game-tying goal at the 67:18 mark and played to a 1-1 double overtime tie against the Eagles. Concordia wasn't able to finish off any more chances in the first half as they went with a strong prevailing wind. The Cobbers then held off Northwestern for most of the second half except for the counter attack goal in the 68th minute of play.

Concordia had a goal in the first overtime called back after it was deemed the Cobber player knocked the ball out of the Eagle goalie's hands after she collected the ball on a save after a corner kick.

The Cobbers finished the game by going with the win in the second OT session and put up a pair of shots and had one corner kick but couldn't find the back of the net for the game winner.

GROUNDHOG DAY: Cue Bill Murray and Punxsutawney Phil. The 1-1 2OT tie marks the third straight game that the Cobbers have finished with that exact same score line. Concordia tied Macalester last Tuesday 1-1 and then settled for a 1-1 draw at home against Carleton on Saturday.

Baarstad also has a team-leading 15 points on the season which is a single-season career high and four more than she had in her previous two years at CC combined.

GOAL STATS: Concordia has scored a single goal in each of its last four games. The Cobbers have scored at least one goal in 10 of their 11 games and have 25 goals on the season. Their 25 goals is the most in a single season since they scored 31 in the 2015 season. Last year they scored 13 goals in their 18 games.
