Scoreless Sunday

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/17/17)--- Playing in their second game in less than 24 hours, Concordia was held off the board for a full 90 minutes and lost 2-0 to regional opponent Wis.-Eau Claire 2-0.

The Cobbers made a push late in the game but it wasn't enough as they conceded a goal in each half and lost for the third straight game.

Concordia is now 2-4-1 on the year while the Blugolds win for the first time this season after dropping four one-goal decisions.

The game was played in the middle part of the field for the majority of the 90 minutes. Eau Claire was able to gain the Cobber defensive end with shorter passes and held a 7-3 edge in total shots for the game.

Concordia had two shot on goal during the game and both came in the second half. Senior Rachel Osmundson had the first shot on target for CC at the 52:35 mark. The Bulgolds would earn their second goal of the game less than two minutes later.

The Cobbers' final shot came off the foot of Halle Jordan in the final six minutes of play. Concordia had the ball in the Blugolds' defensive end for the final 10 minutes of play but couldn't come up with an open opportunity to get on the board.

Eau Claire outshot the Cobbers 4-2 in shots on goal. Besides the shots on goal from Osmundson and Jordan, freshman Klara Beinhorn also had a shot for CC.

Cobber junior goalie Maddy Reed made two saves in goal.
