Trio Caps Season With MIAC Awards

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/10/16)—Paige McCullough, Katie Gillette and Carly Mickelson earned MIAC postseason honors as announce by the league office.

McCullough was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team while Gillette earned All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and Mickelson was the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

McCullough receives postseason honors for the second straight year while Gillette and Mickelson both earn conference awards for the first time in their careers.

McCullough becomes the 17th Cobber player to earn MIAC All-Conference honors in the past six seasons. Concordia has had at least one player earn All-MIAC recognition since 1989.

McCullough's All-MIAC award comes after she earned All-MIAC Honorable Mention honors last season.

McCullough tied for the team lead in scoring in conference play and was second in all games. She finished with one goal and four assists for six points in the team's 11 conference games. McCullough had the best scoring season of her college career in all games as she scored six goals, added nine assists and recorded 21 points. She also tallied 53 shots which was a career-high.

McCullough had at least one point in nine of the team's 18 games and her nine assists led the MIAC in that statistical category. She was also ninth in shots and 11th in overall points.

Gillette started all 11 conference games as the team's central defender. She was the anchor of the defense that recorded six overall shutouts on the season.

Gillette had one assist on the season which came against Bethel when she assisted on the first goal of the game which gave the Cobbers a 1-0 lead at the 11:33 mark.
