A Win Sponsored By The Number 2

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/19/15)—Concordia's final non-conference game of the season was sponsored by the number 2.

The Cobbers scored two goals in each half of their 4-0 win over Northwestern, Paige McCullough scored two goals, Concordia had two players with two assists each and CC used two goalies in the game.

McCullough opened the scoring in the 13th minute of play. After the Eagles had the early portion of control in the game, Concordia started to attack with speed and McCullough scored the game-winning goal after finishing off a passing sequence from Emily Wendorff and Carly Mickelson. It would Wendorff's first of two assists on the afternoon.

McCullough doubled the Cobbers' lead when she netted her second goal of the game at the 22:05 mark. Wendorff once again set up the tally to earn her second assist of the game. Kayla Dostal also was credited with an assist on the play.

The only drama in the game came after the first goal. Senior goalie Elizabeth Bitzan went down after falling awkwardly and left the game as a precautionary measure.

Freshman Maddy Reed earned her first collegiate game time and played the final 77:15 and didn't allow a goal.

Morgan Holm pushed the Concordia to three goals when she tapped home a cross at the back post at 67:40. It was Holm's fifth goal of the year. Emily Payne and Ashley Westbee picked up the assists. For Payne it would be the first of her two second-half helpers.

Concordia would finish off the scoring in the 78th minute when Betsy Halvorson roofed a shot from eight yards out. Payne and freshman Erin Eidsness had the assists for Halvorson's second goal of the year.
