Fransdal And Prosinski Named All-Region First Team

MOORHEAD, Minn. (12/04/14)—Libby Fransdal and Laura Prosinski added to their postseason award total as they were both named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-North Region First Team. The two seniors are now eligible for All-American honors.

The pair are just two of only four players from the MIAC to earn All-Region First Team honors. Molly Allen and Olivia Muyres were also placed on the first team. The MIAC had a total of eight players earn All-Region awards.

Fransdal and Prosinski were the foundation in the middle of the field for the Cobbers who went 13-5-3 in 2014, finished second in the MIAC regular-season standings with a record of 8-1-2, helped the team earn its 12th consecutive MIAC playoff berth and also earning a bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Fransdal earns her third straight All-Region award and the second time she has been placed on the All-North Region First Team. It is the second consecutive year for Prosinski to earn All-Region honors and also the second time she has come away with first team honors.
 
Concordia has now had 21 players earn All-Region honors in the past six seasons which is the most of any school in the MIAC.

The award continues Fransdal's lengthy list of postseason accolades. She was named to the MIAC All-Conference Team for the third consecutive season. Fransdal started every single game for the Cobbers during her four-year career - a streak that encompassed 86 total games. Fransdal also played in 14 total postseason games which included four straight MIAC playoffs, three NCAA Tournament appeara nces and a pair of trips to the NCAA Sweet 16.

Fransdal tied her career high for points in a season in 2014. She finished with two goals and four assists for eight points from her center back position. Both of Fransdal's goals were game-winning scores during the year.
 
Like Fransdal, Prosinski has been a mainstay in the Cobber starting lineup for four straight seasons. She also started all 86 games in the past four seasons and helped Concordia ascend to new team heights in the MIAC and national playoffs.

Prosinski had three assists in 2014 and was a dominant force in the middle of the field from her center midfield position. She finished third on the team with 34 shots on the year. Prosinski finished her career with 171 total shots and had at least 30 shots in all four seasons.
