Familiar Faces Line All-MIAC List

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/13/14)—Familiar faces lined the list of MIAC postseason honors for Concordia. Seniors Libby Fransdal, Laura Prosinski and Elizabeth Robinson all earned All-Conference honors for the second straight year while Marta Prosinski was named to the MIAC All-Conference Honorable mention Team for the second straight year. The only newcomer among the group was junior goalie Elizabeth Bitzan who earned honorable mention honors for the first time in her career.

Senior goalie Sarah Fleissner was the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The six players helped Concordia get back to the NCAA Tournament after a one year absence. The Cobbers went 13-4-3 through the conference tournament and earned the seventh national playoff bid in program history. Concordia went 8-1-2 in conference play to finish in second place in the league standings. The six players also helped the Cobbers earn their 12th consecutive trip to the MIAC playoffs. CC also advanced to the tournament championship game for the ninth time in the 12-yaer history of the tournament.

Fransdal has been the anchor for the Cobber defense for four straight seasons. It is the third consecutive year she has been named to the All-Conference Team. Fransdal also earned All-Region honors last season. She has started every single conference game for the past four seasons for Concordia. Fransdal helped the Cobber defense finish second in the MIAC in goals allowed and goals against average in conference play. Fransdal also had a goal and two assists in league play.

Like Fransdal, Laura Prosinski earns her third MIAC postseason award. She has been on the All-Conference Team the past two seasons and earned honorable mention honors in 2012. Laura Prosinski has been the team's central midfield playmaker for four seasons. She has also started every single conference game the past four seasons. Laura Prosinski had a pair of assists on the year and was third on the team in total shots in league play.

Robinson picks up her second straight All-Conference award. She led the team in scoring for the second straight year. Robinson had six goals and one assist for 13 points in MIAC play and put up seven goals and one assist for 15 points in all games. She was fourth in the MIAC in goals in conference games and second in total shots in league play.

Marta Prosinski puts up her second consecutive All-Conference Honorable Mention performance. She was nagged by injuries throughout the season but battled through and was the team's defensive cover in the center midfield. She helped her sister cover the middle of the field and limit opposing team's central players from collecting the ball and starting the offense. Mart Prosinski had two goals in conference play.

Bitzan was one of the team's most improved players in 2014. She started every game in goal for Concordia in the MIAC and played almost every single minute of the conference slate. Bitzan posted a career-best 0.62 goals against average against league opponents and recorded five shutouts along the way.
