MIAC Postseason Awards Honor Six Cobbers

MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/14/13)—The MIAC postseason award selections were kind to Concordia for another season. The Cobbers had six different players earn All-Conference award in the annual honor roll.

Leading the way for the Cobbers was the junior trio of Libby Fransdal, Laura Prosinski and Elizabeth Robinson who were all named to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Marta Prosinski and Jamie St. Germain came away with MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors while Jessica Scherr was the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.
 
The six players helped Concordia reach the conference tournament for a record-setting 11th straight season. That is the most by any school in league history. The Cobbers finished the year with a 7-3-1 record in conference play marking the fifth straight season they have produced at least seven wins in MIAC play. CC ended 2013 with a 11-7-1 overall record.

Fransdal, who earns All-MIAC honors for the second straight year, was the team's defensive leader from from her central defending position. Her ability to quickly close space and defend in 1v. 1 situations broke up numerous scoring chances for opposing team's forwards. Fransdal helped the Cobbers finish third in the conference in goals allowed in league games. CC only allowed seven goals in their 11 conference games.

Prosinski was named to the MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention Team last season. She was second on the team in scoring in 2013. She had five goals and two assists for 12 points in all games and two goals and one assist for five points in MIAC play. Prosinski was one of the team's playmakers in the center of the field. She helped Concordia finish fourth in the conference in average shots per game (16.8).

Robinson was the team's leading scorer in 2013. She took the torch of Concordia's "go to" player and earned All-MIAC honors for the first time in her career. Robinson had 13 goals and two assists for 28 points in the team's 19 total games and came away with eight goals and one assist for 17 points against league competition. Her eight goals in MIAC games was fourth best in the conference and she finished fifth in total points.
