Movin' On Up - Cobbers Head Into Top 20

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/16/12)—Concordia moved into the top 20 of the latest National Soccer Coaches Association (NSCAA) national rankings it was released on Tuesday. The Cobbers moved up three positions from last week and are now ranked 20th in the nation.

In addition to moving up in the national poll, Concordia also climbed in the regional rankings. The Cobbers are now the top team in North Region. On the strength of a key conference win over Bethel, a crucial regional win against UW-Eau Claire and a narrow double-overtime loss at 2011 NCAA runner-up Wheaton (Ill.), the Cobbers moved from second to first in the regional poll.

Concordia is now 10-3-1 on the year and has won six of their last seven games. It marks the 10th straight season the Cobbers have won at least 10 games in a season.  CC is also 6-1-0 in the MIAC and stands atop the league standings – two games ahead of the closest team.

The Cobbers will be looking to continue the race for their fourth MIAC regular-season championship when they host St. Catherine on Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 4 p.m.
