Cobbers Jump Into National Rankings

MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/24/19)---Concordia jumped into the NWCA Division III national rankings for the first time this season. The Cobbers are now ranked 22nd in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association latest poll.

The national ranking marks the first time that Concordia has been in the top 25 of Division III since the beginning of last season. The Cobbers were No.21 in the nation in the early part of December last year.

Concordia jumped into the Top 25 thanks in part to their dual-meet wins over Wis.-Platteville and Wis.-Oshkosh at the Jim Fox Duals on Jan. 5. Oshkosh is now ranked No.23 in the latest NWCA poll.

Concordia is 6-3 in dual meets this year with their only losses coming at the hands of No.1-ranked Augsburg and a pair of NCAA Division II squads.

The Cobbers have four wrestlers in their starting lineup that have at least 20 wins on the year. They are led by senior Nick Gravdahl who has 21 wins on the season. Benjamin Bogart, Ty Johnson and Jacob Arends all have 20 victories for Concordia.

Concordia will put their newly-acquired national ranking on the line when they travel to Collegeville to take on St. John's in a dual meet on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.
