Second Annual Cobber Gold Rush Meet

MOORHEAD,  Minn. (11/11/14)—The Concordia Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is sponsoring the second annual "Gold Rush" for the Cobber wrestling dual meet against MSU Moorhead on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Auditorium.

Fans are asked to wear a gold shirt or top to show their golden pride for Cobber athletics.

The dual meet will also be "Take A Kid To The Meet" night as all children 12 years of age or younger will get in free.

Concordia is ranked sixth in the preseason NWCA coaches' poll and is coming off its fifth straight top 15 finish at the NCAA Championship Meet.    

The Cobbers return six wrestlers from last year's team that finished second at the NCAA West Regional,  set a school record for most dual wins and advanced to the championship match of the prestigious NWCA national Duals Meet. The solid six who return to lead the Cobbers are Gabe Foltz (125), Jacoby Bergeron (133), Yonas Gebreab (141), Jake Krogstad (165), Sebastian Gardner (174) and Delson Saintal (197).

Last year Concordia beat MSU Moorhead 28-7. The Cobbers have a four-match win streak over the Dragons and have beaten MSU Moorhead in five of the past six seasons.
