Special Senior Night Fundraiser For Cronin Family

Special Senior Night Fundraiser For Cronin Family

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/10/14)—Concordia will add a special fundraising event to their annual Senior Night when they host St. John's on Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. The Cobbers will host a special rock-paper-scissors tournament prior to the match to benefit the Keegan Cronin family.

Keegan Cronin is a junior at West Fargo High School and was ranked fourth in the state of North Dakota at the 113-lb weight class earlier in the season. He suffered an injury in mid-January which eventually led to doctors diagnosing Keegan with stage 3 testicular cancer. He has started chemotherapy treatment and all money raised by the fundraising event will be given directly to the Keegan Cronin family to help offset the costs of treatment and hospital stay.

The cost of entering the rock-paper-scissors tournament is $10 and the competition will begin at 6:45 p.m. The winner of the tournament will receive a free entry into the 11th annual Cobber Team Wrestling Camp while the runner-up will be awarded a free meal from Erbert's and Gerbert's in Moorhead.

Fans can also make donations to the Keegan Cronin family without participating in the tournament.

As part of the special Senior Night fundraiser there will be free admission for all high school wrestlers and coaches.

Concordia is currently ranked sixth in the nation in the latest NWCA Division III wrestling poll. The Cobbers have three individuals ranked in the top 10 and are 14-4 in dual meets which is a school record for dual-meet wins in a season. St. John's is ranked 21st in the nation.
