Nagels Announce 2013-14 Schedule

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/22/13)—Concordia co-head coaches Clay and Matt Nagel announced the 2013-14 schedule which includes home dual matches against national Division III power Augsburg, former conference rival St. John's and nationally-ranked Division II squad St. Cloud State.

"Our schedule will give u a great opportunity to succeed at regionals and the national meet," added Clay Nagel. "It is going to be a grind on our athletes but I think it will pay huge dividends come March."

In addition to the outstanding home dual schedule, the Cobbers have been invited to participate in the 2014 NWCA Division III National Duals on Jan. 11-12 in Des Moines, Iowa.  The invite-only tournament features the top NCAA Division III wrestling programs. Selection to the tournament is based on returning national place winners and overall team strength from teams who apply for entrance to the 2014 tournament. It marks the fifth time that the Cobbers have been invited to this prestigious event.

"It is an honor to be included in this event," said Clay Nagel. "The NWCA puts on a first-class event every year and it is a privilege to be invited back."

Concordia will also participate in a pair of national-level dual invites during the season. The Cobbers will travel to Nashville, Tenn. To compete in the Gator Duals on Dec. 21 and then wrestle in the Border Brawl Duals at UW-Whitewater in Whitewater, Wis. on Jan. 25.

The Cobbers' schedule also includes multi-team invites at North Dakota State University to open the season on Nov.9, the Jamestown Open on Nov. 23, the MSU-Moorhead Dragon Open on Dec. 7 and the North Country Open at St. John's University on Feb. 1.

Concordia will also host the annual Finn Grinaker Cobber Open on Nov. 16 beginning at 9 a.m.
