Gardner Cultivates A Title At Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (2/04/12)-- Cobber freshman Sebastian Gardner won the 174-lb weight class and led a group of  10 Concordia wrestlers that placed in the top 6 at the Jamestown Invitational. Gardner was 3-0 during the tournament and earned two of his victories by pin fall to claim his firs collegiate multiple-team invitational title. 

Overall Concordia had 10 of the 12 wrestlers they sent to the meet finish in the top 6 of their weight class.

Besides Gardner's championship, Jake Kostik, Jake Krogstad, Brandon Haluptzok, Taylor Brown and Tom Bouressa all earned sixth-place honors. The CC wrestlers who finished in the top 5 included a third-place finishes from Kevin Fynboh at 157 and Danny Pike at 184, fourth-place honors from Garret Bothun at 165 and a fifth-pace finish from Nick Bachmann at 174.

Concordia will head back to dual-meet competition when they square off against Southwest MN State in Marshall, Minn. on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7 p.m.
