Bio

Sam Lashomb is one of the new members of the Cobber women’s hockey coaching staff. Like many of her fellow assistant coaches, she brings Division I playing experience to the position.

Lashomb was a 4-year starter for the University of North Dakota. She played in 144 games for the Fighting Hawks and recorded 37 points as one of the top defenseman in the WCHA.

Lashomb also excelled in the classroom where she was a 2-time WCHA All-Academic and Scholar Athlete award winner. She graduated from UND in 2016 with a double major in Criminal Justice and Social Work.

Lashomb earned UND’s Female Individual Community Service Award for putting in 592 hours of community service work in her senior season.

Lashomb went to South St. Paul High School where she helped the team advance to the Minnesota State High School Hockey Tournament 1A championship game. Lashomb was a semifinalist for the Ms. Hockey Award in Minnesota and went on to capture a silver medal for the United States U18 team in the 2012 World Championships.
