Gregoire Resigns To Take New Position

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/03/18)---Concordia women's hockey coach Jason Gregoire announced his resignation in order to become the Hockey Director for the West Fargo youth hockey program.

"We are sad to see Jason leave the program," said Concordia interim Athletic Director Rachel Bergeson. "He has continued to grow the women's hockey program during his four seasons as head coach and he has been a tremendous mentor for our student/athletes.

Gregoire took over as Concordia head coach for the 2015 season and helped the Cobbers  reach the playoffs in four consecutive seasons. Gregoire won at least nine games in all four seasons and finished with a 47-46-12 overall record.

Gregoire was at his best in conference play where he guided Concordia to a Top 5 finish in all four seasons. He won 37 MIAC games during his tenure and posted a record of 37-25-10.

Gregoire also got the Cobbers to the MIAC semifinals in three of the four seasons he was behind the bench for the Cobbers.

Gregoire helped 16 Cobber players earn MIAC All-Conference or All-Conference Honorable Mention honors during his four years at the helm. He was also a part of Concordia's first-ever MIAC Most Valuable Player when Maddy Wegleitner (Gendreau) won the award in 2015.

"We want to thank Jason for all the great things he did for the women's hockey program and the entire athletic department," added Bergeson. "We wish him, and his family, the best of luck in his new position and we hope he will stay in touch with the players he has guided throughout the years."

Bergeson also added that a search for Gregoire's replacement will begin immediately.
