Gregoire Has Interim Tag Removed

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/30/15)—Concordia Athletic Director Rich Glas announced that Jason Gregoire has had the interim label removed from his job title and will be the seventh head coach in the history of the Cobber women's hockey team.

"Jason showed his ability to continue the excellent tradition of the Concordia women's hockey program this season," said Glas. "Not only did he maintain the winning tradition, he also helped the team achieve new milestones in the team's history."

Under Gregoire's leadership, Concordia set a new school record for most consecutive games without a loss. The Cobbers fashioned a 10-game unbeaten streak which started in the middle of January and helped them secure the program's fifth straight MIAC playoff berth.

In addition to the team success, Gregoire was also instrumental in helping senior captain Maddy Gendreau become the program's second All-American and first player to earn ACHA All-American First Team honors. Gendreau was also a finalist for the Laura Hurd Award which goes to the Player of the Year in Division III.

Gregoire guided the Cobbers to a third-place finish in the MIAC final standings. Concordia finished the year with a 9-6-3 record in conference play and amassed 10 overall wins which marks the eighth straight year the team has won at least 10 games in a season.

Glas went on to add, "I am really looking forward to seeing the next few years of Concordia women's hockey now that Jason has had a year's worth of experience. His leadership abilities will help the women's team continue to progress and stay among the top teams in the MIAC."
