ST. PAUL, Minn. (1/31/15)—The Cobbers scored six goals in a 6-2 win at Hamline to extend their unbeaten streak to six games and earn a sweep over the Pipers in the weekend series.

CC would add two more strikes in the final five minutes of the second frame and then coast home with the four-goal victory.  The Cobbers have scored 24 goals in the last six games after only scoring 23 in their first 13 games of the season.

That was the case on Saturday as Ellen Rethwisch and Jessica Kongelf both had a pair of goals. Rethwisch opened the scoring and added the bookend goal at the end of the first period while Kongelf scored both of the team's goals in the second period – and both came on the power play.

Rethwisch earned her fourth goal of the season at the 6:55 mark on the team's first power play chance of the game.  Emily Goff and Amber Schaack got the assists on the play.

Rethwisch would score her second goalwith only 15-seconds left in the first frame but not before Maddy Gendreau and Kelsey Vandegrift tacked on even-strength goals 3:08 apart midway through the period. Vandegrift assisted on Gendreau's goal and Bekah Wright collected the helper on Vandegrift's tally. Rethwisch's second goal of the opening period came at 19:45 and put the game out of reach. Schaack recorded her second assist on the day and defenseman Morgan Bruns was also credited with an assist.

Hamline was able to get one goal back just before the midway point of the second period but then Kngelf would post her double to push the lead to 6-1 with 1:21 left in the middle stanza. Both Kongelf's goals came on the power play after the Pipers took back-to-back penalties.

Kongelf netted her third goal of the year at 15:26 and then finished off CC's scoring in the game with another tally at 18:39. Schaack picked up the hat trick of assists on Kongelf's first goal and then Rethwisch and Goff were given assists on the goal at the 18:39 mark.
