Single Goals In Each Period Prove To Be The Difference

STEVENS POINT, Wis. (11/08/14)—Concordia gave up a single goal in each period and lost 3-0 at No.6-ranked Wis.-Stevens Point. The Cobbers gave up a pair of power play goals in the second game of their two-game series at Stevens Point.

Concordia was whistled for one penalty in the first period and the Pointers took advantage with the first power play goal at the 8:29 mark. The Cobbers would then take three penalties in the second period and Stevens Point would add to their lead with a goal on the second man-advantage situation of the middle period.

Stevens Point would finish off the scoring with an even-strength goal in the second minute of play in the third period.

Concordia was outshot 33-15 in the game. The Cobbers had five different players with two shots in the game. Maddy Gendreau was one of the five and has now led the team in shots in the first two games of the season.

The Cobbers split the goaltending duties. Madison Denny started the game and played until midway through the third period and then gave way to Andrea Klug. Denny made 26 saves while Klug stopped all four shots she faced.

Concordia will now open MIAC play when they travel to St. Peter to take on Gustavus on No.14-15. The Gusties were the No,1 pick in the annual MIAC preseason coaches' poll.
