Day 2 Improvement At The BU Battle

BECKER, Minn. (4/18/21)---Concordia had four of its five golfers improve on their scores from Saturday to Sunday at the Bethel Battle at the Creek Invite held at Pebble Creek GC in Becker.

As a team, the Cobbers cut 24 shots off their opening round score on Sunday and finished 12th in the final team standings. Concordia posted a 398 team score on Saturday in Round 1 and then came back with a 374 on Sunday to post a score of 772 for the 2-day event.

Senior Bailey Klause led the Cobbers on the weekend. She carded an 88 in the opening round on Saturday and then followed that with a 90 on Sunday. Her 2-round total of 178 was good for a tie for 37th place.

Sophomore Abbey Frauenholtz was the No.2 golfer for Concordia in their first multi-team invitational of the spring season. She went out with a 93 in the first 18 holes and then improved by two shots and fired a 91 on Sunday.

Freshman Lillie Kirchner showed the most improvement of any Cobber golfer between the two rounds. She opened the tournament with a 109 and then improved by 15 shots with a 94 on Sunday.

Talia Stumpf and Kenley Anderson finished off the Cobber contingent at the meet. Stumpf was right behind Kirchner in the final individual standings. She opened with a 108 and then bettered that mark by nine shots with a 99 in Round 2. Anderson was seven better from Day 1 to Day 2. She carded a 111 on Saturday and then finished with a 104 on Sunday.

UP NEXT: Concordia will return to action on Apr. 24-25 when they participate in the Carleton-St. Olaf Spring Invitational held at Willingers GC and Northfield GC in Northfield.
