Krueger Wins Meet With MSUM

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/24/19)---Senior Katie Krueger and junior Bailey Klause gave Concordia a 1-2 finish in their dual meet with MSU Moorhead at the Meadows GC. The pair was three shots in front of the nearest Dragon golfer but it wasn't enough as MSU Moorhead won the meet by two shots in the final meet before the conference championship.

Concordia had two players fire their lowest score of the season on a day that was characterized by swirling winds and intermittent rain.

Krueger carded an 80 and Klause was right behind with an 82 and helped Concordia finish with a team score of 346. The Dragons came through with a team score of 344.

The 80 shot by Krueger is her lowest round of the season. Her previous low for 18 holes was an 82 which came in the first round at the Cobber Open. Her total on Tuesday lowers her season average to 85.9.

Klause has now posted three rounds of 82 or better on the year. Her low score for the season is 79 which she fired in the second round at the DIII Classic. Klause continues to lead CC in scoring. She has an 84.1 average over her nine rounds this fall.

Katie Froemke and Jenna Pauly both came home with a 92 and tied for seventh place. The scores are below the season average for both players. Froemke has posted scores of 92 or under in four of her past five rounds and the 92 is the second lowest score of the season for Pauly.

Grace Names finished out the Top 5 for the Cobbers. She posted a 97 which was her lowest score of the season.

UP NEXT:  Concordia will head to Becker this weekend to compete in the MIAC Championship Meet at Pebble Creek GC on Sept. 28-30. The Cobbers will begin the conference meet when they tee off at 12:42 p.m. on Saturday.
