Cobbers Improve On Day 2 At CSU Invite

PRIOR LAKE, Minn. (9/22/19)---Concordia made a step up on Day 2 at the St. Kate's Invite at The Wilds GC in Prior Lake. The Cobbers improved by eight shots over their Day 1 performance.

Concordia finished the two-day tournament with a total score of 690 (349-341) and placed 11th.

Concordia opened their fourth meet of the season by shooting a team score of 349 and were in 11th place. Senior Katie Krueger led CC on Saturday with an opening round score of 83.

The Cobbers played even better on Sunday in tough conditions. Concordia came home with a team score 341 and overtook conference foe St. Benedict to finish in 10th place.

Junior Bailey Klause was the low Cobber on Sunday. She shot an 83 and finished with a total of 167 (84-83). Her total was good for 23rd place.

Kreuger was one shot behind with a total of 168. She shot an 85 on Day 2.

Freshman Abbey Frauenholtz was the team's No.3 golfer with a 177 (87-90). She was one shot ahead of Katie Froemke who had the biggest improvement of any Cobber golfer from Day 1 to Day 2. She opened with a 95 but then came home with an 83 to finish at 178. The 83 on Day 2 was Froemke's lowest round of the year.                 

UP NEXT: Concordia will get ready for next weekend's MIAC Championship Meet by competing against MSU Moorhead in a dual meet on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Meadows GC.
