Cobbers Finish Ninth At MIAC Meet

BECKER, Minn. (10/01/18)---Concordia posted three of their Top 7 single-round team totals of the season and placed ninth at the MIAC Championship Meet.   

The Cobbers posted team scores of 359, 355 and 361 to finish the 3-day meet with a total of 1,075 which was only four shots behind eighth-place St. Thomas. The 355 carded on Sunday in the second round was the third best team score of the fall for CC.

Concordia junior Katie Krueger fired her best round of the championship meet on the final day and led the Cobbers with a 260. She placed 28th at the MIAC Meet which is her first Top 30 finish at a conference tournament in her career.  Krueger started the tournament with a 90 then improved by one stroke on Sunday before coming through with an 81 on Monday. The 81 is her best score in a MIAC Championship Meet and the second best round of the season.

Krueger finishes the fall season with a team best 85.4 average.

Bailey Klause and Alyssa Dalen were locked in a battle for the team lead on the first two days of competition. Both golfers carded identical scores of 88 and 87 to start their weekend. Dalen earned the spot as the team's No.2 golfer at the meet as she fired a 91 on Monday which beat Klause by a single shot.

Dalen finished the tournament with a total of 266 (88-87-91) and finished 35th while Klause placed 36th with a 3-day total of 267 (88-87-92).

Jenna Pauly and Katie Froemke were the No.4 and No.5 Cobber finishers at the tournament. Pauly shot a 282 (93-92-97) and Froemke came home in 293 (95-97-101).
