Day 2 Momentum Builder

Day 2 Momentum Builder

HASTINGS, Minn. (9/22/18)----Concordia wrapped up its "regular season" by finishing ninth at the St. Kate's Fall Invitational. The Cobbers shot a two-day total of 707 (356-351) and were only two shots out of eighth place.

The good news for Concordia is that they will have a bit of momentum head into next weekend's MIAC Championship Meet. The 351 shot by the Cobbers on Day 2 is the second lowest round of the season. The 356 on Saturday is the third best round of the year.

Junior Bailey Klause paced the Cobbers over the weekend. She started the tournament with a season-best score of 81 and then posted an 86 on Sunday to finish at 167 which was good for a tie for 20th  place.

Katie Krueger was the No.2 CC golfer over the weekend. She went out in 89 and then improved by six shots on Day 2 and finished at 172 which put her in the Top 30 at the meet.

Alyssa Dalen was the only other CC athlete to finish in the Top 50 at the 11-team tournament. She started with a 95, and like Krueger, improved by six strokes on Sunday. She posted a total of 184.

UP NEXT: Concordia will head to the MIAC Championship Meet on Saturday, Sept. 29 and play in the 3-day event at the Pebble Creek GC in Becker.
