Krueger Continues Breakout Season

JAMESTOWN, N.D. (9/17/18)---Junior Katie Krueger continued her breakout season by posting the highest multi-round finish of her career. Krueger shot a pair of rounds in the low 80's and finished second at the Jimmie Fall Classic.

Krueger was tied for the lead after Sunday's first round and battled through the second day still leading entering the back 9. She narrowly missed out on medalist honors but finished ahead of the player she was tied with after Day 1.

Krueger ended the 2-day tourney with a 164 (81-83) total which marks the second time in three tournament this year she has finished under 165 for two rounds. Her two rounds under 165 in 2018 mark the first time in her career she has been under 170 in any tournament.

Krueger led the Cobber contingent as CC finished third with a team total of 719 (357-362). The 357 carded in the second round is the second lowest team total of the year. Concordia had a 349 in the first round of the St. Benedict Invite on Sept. 1.

Concordia had two other golfers finish in the Top 10 of the Jimmie tournament. Junior Alyssa Dalen posted the first Top 10 finish of her career. She shot 85 on Sunday and then dropped to a 93 on Sunday to finish at 178 which put her in a tie for seventh place.

Bailey Klause continued her recent hot streak. Last week she, along with Krueger, led Concordia at the Cobber Fall Invite and backed that up with a Top 10 finish at Jamestown. She shot a 2-day total of 181 (88-93) and was tied for ninth place.

UP NEXT: Concordia will have its last tournament before the MIAC Championship Meet on Sept. 29-Oct. 1 when they participate in the College City Challenge held at Bellwood Oaks GC in Hastings.
