Making The Most Of Lone Spring Meet

MOORHEAD, Minn. (4/27/18)---Concordia made the most of its only spring competition as they bested MSU Moorhead and Minn.-Crookston in a triangular meet at The Meadows GC.

The Cobbers were originally scheduled to have three meets in the spring but because of bad weather and commitment problems, CC was only able to get in one meet in the spring season.

Concordia finished the 1-day event with a final team total of 376 which was four strokes better than second-place MSU Moorhead and 10 clear of Minn.-Crookston.

Katie Krueger and Bailey Klause led the Cobbers as both golfers finished in the Top 3 at the meet. Krueger fired a 90 to finish in second place – only a single shot away from medalist honors. Klause was two shots back and placed third with her 92.

The Cobbers also had two other golfers finish in the Top 10. Andrea Peterson posted a 96 and was tied for seventh place while Kaitlin Brown came home with a 98 and placed 10th.

SEASON STAT STUFF: Katie Krueger finished the year with a 91.1 average in her 10 rounds. That was second best on the team this year. Senior Erin Pennington, who didn't play in the spring event, led the Cobbers with an 89.1 average…Krueger tied for the team lead in number of tournaments led by a CC player. She was the top Cobber at the College City Challenge at the end of September. Erin Pennington also led the team in two tournaments while Bailey Klouse led the squad at the MIAC Meet. Krueger and Pennington also tied for the low round of the year. Both players fired an 85 during the fall season.
