Cobbers Finish Off Spring Season

VICTORIA, Minn. (4/23/17)--- Concordia finished off its spring season by competing in the Bethel Royal Match tournament. The Cobbers carded a first-round score of 362 but then had to post a "did not complete" score in the second round because of a scoring card mishap.

Concordia was in 10th place after the first day and had two of its four golfers post better scores on Day 2 but was unable to post a final team score because of a scorecard mix-up at the end of the tournament.

Erin Pennington and Katie Krueger led the way for Concordia as they both shot in the 80's on Saturday and Sunday. Pennington earned low honors for CC by firing an 88 on Day 1 and then coming home with an 84 in the second round.

Pennington's two-day total of 172 earned her a tie for 37th place.

Pennington finishes the fall and spring seasons with a team-best 86.8 stroke average. Her best round of the year came in September when she fired an 80 in the second round of the UW-Eau Claire Blugold Invitational.

Krueger shot a similar 88 on the opening day and then did that one stroke better on Sunday to finish at 175 (88-87) and place 40th at the meet.

Krueger showed the most improvement of any team member this spring. She shot in the 80's in three of the four rounds in 2017 after carding only two rounds in the 80's in the fall of 2016.

The only other Concordia golfer to complete both rounds was Katie Froemke who had a 91 in the opening round and then finished with a 98 on the second day.
