Cobbers Host Annual Concordia Tournament Weekend

Concordia will host the annual Cobber Open and Concordia Invite on Friday and Saturday. The Cobber Open opens the weekend as a one-day affair on Friday. The Concordia Invite will be played over two days on Saturday and Sunday.

The Cobber Open on Friday will feature teams from Concordia, North Dakota State MSU Moorhead, Minot State and the University of North Dakota. The highlight of the event will have NDSU superstar Amy Anderson teeing off at 12 p.m. Anderson, a senior from Oxbow, N.D., has won 15 tournaments her first three seasons at NDSU.  Golf World reports the Division I career record to be 17 by Juli Inkster for San Jose State.

Anderson is a three-time NCAA regional qualifier and placed as high as 12th at the national championship in 2011.  She was named to the National Golf Coaches Association All-America second team that year. Anderson has been voted the Summit League Golfer of the Year all three years and has won each of the past two individual championships after a runner-up finish in 2010.

The Concordia Invite on Saturday and Sunday will have a deeper field with 10 teams and over 60 golfers competing for top honors.
