MOORHEAD, Minn. (11/23/21)---The fourth-quarter funk continued for Concordia in their 58-46 loss at home against Macalester. The Cobbers trailed the Scots 40-38 heading into the final period, but then shot 22.2% (4-for-18) in the final 10 minutes of play and lost by 12.

Concordia is now 1-3 in all games and 1-2 in the MIAC, while Macalester ups both of their marks to the .500 level. The Scots are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in league play.

The final game before the Thanksgiving break was a grin for the first three quarters. The teams combined for only 17 points in the first quarter as they went 7-for-31 (22.5%) from the floor and 1-for-7 (14.3%) from outside the arc.

Macalester was able to take a 4-point lead on a pair of occasions, and had a 5-point advantage with 1:17 left in the period, but then a Thompson free throw and a last-second steal and layup by Emily Beseman brought the deficit down to a pair of points heading into the final 10 minutes of the game.

The score was still within two points, with the Scots holding on to a 48-46 edge at the 2-minute mark, but then a 10-run to finish the game brought the final total to 58-46.

Concordia's cold touch from the outside continued against the Scots. The Cobbers went 1-for-13 (7.7%) from 3-point range and are now 3-for-34 (8.8%) in their last two games from distance.

CC held a 39-33 advantage in rebounds and a 26-14 margin in points in the paint.
