MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/22/21)---The old adage of "to the victors go the spoils" held true for the MIAC Player of the Week award as Concordia won a pair of games and sophomore Emily Beseman received the weekly conference honor.

Beseman averaged 20.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists in collecting the second MIAC Player of the Week award in her career. She was also received the honor at the start of last year when she dropped 23 points on Minn.-Morris in the season opener.

Beseman's 2-game performance helped Concordia beat St. Benedict on 82-78 on Feb. 10 and Bethel 65-62 on Feb. 21. It was the first time that the Cobbers had beaten Bethel since the 2016 season. The two victories have evened the team's overall record at 2-2 while they are now 2-1 in league play.

Beseman began the award period by scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in the victory over the Bennies. She went 7-for-14 from the floor and 3-for-4 from the free throw line.

On Saturday against Bethel, Beseman put up 24 points and recorded seven assists. She also scored eight of the team's final 10 points in the game as CC used a 10-2 run down the stretch to beat the Royals.

Beseman leads the team in scoring and assists in 2021. She is averaging 19.0 points and 3.25 helpers per game. Beseman also has a 5.5 rpg average.

Beseman will look to continue to help the Cobbers' on-court success when the team hosts Hamline on Thursday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m.
