Upperclassmen Shine With MIAC Postseason Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (3/05/15)—A quartet of upperclassmen earned MIAC postseason honors as seniors Alley Fisher and Erin Januschka were named to the MIAC All-Conference Team while junior Olivia Johnson earned MIAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors and junior Katie Rosenfeldt was the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team.

The four players helped Concordia earn their 13th consecutive MIAC playoff berth and seventh straight top 3 finish in the MIAC standings. The Cobbers finished the year with a 15-11 overall record and a 11-7 mark in the MIAC.

It is the second consecutive year for Fisher to earn MIAC All-Conference honors and Johnson to come away with the MIAC Honorable Mention award. Januschka was the team's representative on the All-MIAC Sportsmanship Team while it is the first postseason award for Rosenfeldt.

Fisher had a record-setting season in her senior year. She became the school's all-time 3-point field goal leader and along the way surpassed the 1,000-point milestone for her career. Fisher broke the school record for most career 3-pointers against St. Olaf on Feb. 18. She eventually finished her four seasons with 180 career 3-pointers which bettered the old record of 174 set by Annie Keeley from 2003-07.

Fisher also reached the 1,000-point total for her career on Jan. 5 at Macalester. She finished her career with 1,221 points which ranks 13th on the school's all-time scoring list.

Fisher led the team in scoring and assists during the season. She finished with a 15.3 points per game average in all games and a 15.9 ppg average in league contests. Fisher was tied for fifth in the MIAC in scoring in conference games and was third in free throw percentage at 85.1%.

Januschka had the best season of her career. She was second on the team in scoring, rebounding and assists. Januschka averaged 9.8 points, 5.1 rebounds and dished out 51 assists in the team's 26 overall games. She was third on the team in scoring in league games with a 9.2 ppg average and came away with a 5.4 rpg average. Januschka's previous season best numbers were 8.1 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game.

Johnson also had the best season of her career. She averaged 9.5 points and 6.8 rebounds in all games and 10.3 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in the 17 conference contests. Johnson was 10th in the MIAC in defensive rebounds and 11th in overall rebounds per game in league play. She scored in double figures in nine league games and had a season-high 21 points against St. Mary's on Feb. 7.
