Januschka Is Perfect In Helping End Three-Game Slide

MOORHEAD, Minn. (1/21/15)—Erin Januscka didn't miss a shot the entire game and helped Concordia end their three-game losing streak by beating Carleton 68-38.

Januschka went 8-for-8 from the field and 5-for-5 from the free throw line and tied her career high of 21 points. Her perfect night of shooting helped the Cobbers get back on the winning track after a trio of setbacks. Concordia is now 9-7 overall and 5-4 in the MIAC.

Januschka was a part of the game-deciding run midway through the first half. Concordia took an early lead but Carleton kept the game close through the first 10 minutes of play. The Cobbers then went on a 13-2 run to push a four-point advantage to a 15-point cushion. During that stretch Januschka went 3-for-3 from the field and 2-for-2 from the foul line to put up eight of the 13 points.

Concordia would never be challenged after that point. The Cobbers were able to take a 13-point lead into the break and then pushed it to 20 points in the first 2:44 of the second half by starting with a 10-3 run.

The Cobber finished the game by shooting 45.8% (23-for-48) from the floor but only 23.5% (22-for-48) from outside the arc. CC was nearly perfect from the free throw line, going 20-for-22 and pushing their season FT percentage in MIAC games to a torrid 81.96%. Concordia currently leads the conference in free throw percentage in league games.

Concordia had a decided edge under the basket. The Cobbers outrebounded the Knights 34-23. CC had nine offensive rebounds which led to a 13-0 advantage in second chance points.  Concordia also enjoyed a 32-20 margin in points in the paint.
