Program History Made In Latest National Rankings

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/24/14)—For the first time in program history Concordia has climbed into the top 25 in the D3hoops.com Division III national rankings. The Cobbers enter this week's poll in the No.25 spot.

Concordia entered the national rankings on the strength of winning 15 of their final 16 games in the regular season. The 15-1 stretch helped the Cobbers secure the No.2 seed for the upcoming MIAC playoff tournament.
 
The Cobbers finished the regular season with a 21-4 overall record and a 19-3 mark in conference play. It is the second straight season that CC has won 21 overall games and third time in the past four years they have achieved that lofty win total. The 19 victories against MIAC opponents is also the second straight year they have won 19 games in league play. It is also the sixth time in program history they have won at least 19 league games.

Concordia led the MIAC in points and points per game in conference play this year. The Cobbers averaged 73.4 points per game in their 22 conference contests. CC was also second in 3-point field goal percentage (35.5%) and total rebounds per game (42.6).

The Cobbers finished the regular season with three players averaging in double figures and are led by junior guard Alley Fisher. Fisher averaged 12.0 points per game this year and is currently 14th in the nation in free throw percentage (87.8%). Concordia is 16-0 in 2013-14 when she scores at least 10 points in a game.

Concordia will start their playoff push when they host an MIAC semifinal game on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 7:30 p.m. CC will face whichever winner of the first rounds games has the best seed.
