Seniors Celebrate By Clinching Third Place

MOORHEAD, Minn. (2/18/12)-- Alex Lippert posted her third double-double of the season as Concordia beat St. Ben's 63-57 in Moorhead on Saturday. Lippert had 14 points and 11 rebounds to help the Cobbers post their sixth win in the last seven games.
 
Concordia never trailed in the regular-season finale and upped their overall record to 17-8 on the year. CC will enter the conference playoffs as the No.3 seed after finishing in third place with a 15-7 record in the MIAC. St. Ben's ends their season with a 13-12 overall record and a 10-12 mark in league games. 

The Cobbers won the game around the basket and at the free throw line. Concordia held a 26-18 edge in points n the paint and connected on 17 of their 18 free throws. Their  94.4% free throw percentage is a season high.

Besides the double-double from Lippert, three other Concordia players factored in double figures in scoring. Tricia Sorensen was 6-for-12 from the field and had a game-high 15 points and Emily Thesing and Alley Fisher each chipped in 11 points.

Conordia will host Bethel in the first round of the MIAC playoffs on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m.
