Ankerfelt Earns All-MIAC Honors

MOORHEAD, Minn. (5/14/18)---Brooke Ankerfelt finished her sophomore season by being named to the MIAC All-Conference Team. Ankerfelt led the team in hitting in conference play as the team's starting second baseman.

Senior Abby Haraldson was the team's selection for the MIAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

Ankerfelt earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career and she is the ninth Concordia player in the past 10 seasons to be named to the MIAC All-Conference Team.

Ankerfelt played in 19 of the team's 22 MIAC games this season. She hit .333 with 16 hits and five walks. She also had a .396 on-base percentage and a .354 slugging percentage.

Ankerfelt led the team in almost every offensive statistical category in league games. She was tops in batting average, hits, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, total bases and walks.

Ankerfelt had at least one hit in 12 of the 22 league games. She had five multiple-hit games and her season best came against league champions St. Thomas when she had three hits and went 3-for-3. Ankerfelt finished off the year by collecting at least one hit in four of the last five games.

Ankerfelt had the second longest streak of any Cobber for reaching base during the year. She got on base in six straight league games againsr St. Olaf, Hamline, St. Catherine and St. Thomas.

Haraldson pitched in 11 MIAC games and finished with an earned run average of 4.47 while striking out 48. She capped her record-setting career with 441 total strikeouts. That bettered the old school record by 70 K's. Haraldson also recorded 28 wins, had a 3.95 ERA and pitched in 475.1 innings.
