Cobbers Run Under The Lights At MSU Moorhead Twilight

MOORHEAD, Minn. (9/09/22)---One of the highlights for the fall season is always the MSU Moorhead Twilight Meet as Concordia gets a chance to compete locally, and they are also able to run the only race of the year under the lights.

The 2022 version of the Dragon Twilight Meet didn't disappoint as the Cobbers finished sixth in a race that featured a pair of Division I squads, three Division II schools and a trio of top NAIA programs.

Senior Leo Smith paced Concordia with a time of 19:34.00 over the 6000-meter course. His time was good for 30th place in the overall individual competition. Smith's finishing time also represents a 19-second improvement over his time from last year at the meet.

Jonathan Krueger was the team's No.2 finisher at the meet with a time of 20:03.62. The freshman has now posted team Top 2 times in both meets this year.

A pair of seniors were neck-and-neck entering the finish chute. Solomon Johnson was the Cobbers' No.3 finisher with a mark of 20:22.39, while Tanner Olson was right behind at 20:23.60. Both CC harriers posted Top 55 finishes.

Freshman Carter Ferber was the final member of Concordia's scoring squad. He crossed the line in a time of 20:41.78.

Cole Nowacki was just off Ferber's shoulder at the finish and posted a time of 20:43.76.   
   
UP NEXT: Concordia will have a 2-week break before returning to competition at the prestigious Roy Griak Invite hosted by the University of Minnesota. The meet at the Les Bolstad GC will take place on Friday, Sept. 23 at 12 p.m.
